Lawro’s prediction

|

Mark Lawrenson is finally starting to fancy the Hammers!

Two gamesĀ  in, top of the league with eight goals scored means that’s hardly any surprise but MAYBE there is still some proving to be done that we are now reaching the level of consistency required of a top team.

However, with a series of pre-season games all successfully negotiated it’s hard not to feel that finally we may be on our way.

Palace tomorrow and this is a team that has caused us problems in the past but with a new manager struggling to get results we must be big favourites for this one.

So far the south Londoners have been beaten by Chelsea, grabbed a home point against Brentford and been beaten in the EFL Cup.

Not the sort of form you need to bringing into a match against the on song Hammers and Lawrenson is more than happy to tip us for a win.

Lawrenson says: “West Ham have won their opening two games and are top. Although it is still early days, you would think they may bring in two or three more signings before Tuesday’s transfer deadline too.

They have the added matches of the Europa League this season, so if West Ham finish in the top 10 again that will be another accomplishment for Moyes and the club.

Patrick Vieira has replaced Roy Hodgson and will have his way of doing things but the main worry for Crystal Palace is the amount of playing experience they have lost. You need that as a new manager because if you are trying to play a different way, you need to be difficult to play against.
