Leeds & Hammers want midfielder – report

|

Leeds and West Ham are reported to be interested in signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

Calciomercato reports that the 26-year-old is in demand ahead of the summer transfer window.

Nandez has somewhat struggled with injury this season and has made a total of 17 league appearances in Serie A, with a knee injury coming on the back of a positive COVID test.

Along with the two Premier League clubs, Inter Milan are also said to hold an interest in signing Nandez, who has been with Cagliari since 2019.

He has made a total of 90 appearances for the club and has scored four goals, while registering nine assists.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, the report in Italy claims that his €35m (£29.3m) asking price is set to be dropped amid his injury issues, but not too far, given the interest in him.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers will formalise their interest with a bid in the next few months.
