Barely a transfer rumour passes without Leeds United being labelled as âin competitionâ for a West Ham targetâand today is no different.
According to Leeds United News, the Hammersâ latest targetâMario Stroeykensâis also the subject of a transfer bid from the Yorkshire club.
Thereâs been a real buzz around West Hamâs pursuit of the young Anderlecht star in recent days. Yesterdayâs speculation culminated in reports that the Hammers had lodged a âŹ10m bid, with the Belgian club said to be holding out for double that amount.
The Leeds United website appears to confirm West Hamâs interest in Stroeykens but claims there have also been âtalksâ between Leeds and Anderlecht. In addition, another Belgian-based Irons targetâRaphael Onyedikaâis also named as a player of interest to Daniel Farkeâs side.
Clearly, newly promoted Leeds are wasting no time strengthening their squad. They remain a sleeping giant with serious ambition, and whether itâs Habib Diarra, Lucas Stassin, or this latest crop of names, it seems both clubs are shopping in the same aisles.
Whether Leeds interest in West Ham’s Tomas Soucek has cooled is hard to say. But it’s becoming clear that out of all three promoted Championship teams, Leeds will be the ones to watch.
Every transfer window is treated like a tightwads day at a car boot sale.
See something you like and offer a quid. Wait for 6 hours and hope the seller will accept 25p just before closing time.

As BCN says, we should be reading we have signed a player without all these rumours, most of which carry no substance. No professionalism at all at West Ham, and we al know why.
Every West Ham fan knows this transfer aint happening…..we’ve all been here season after season where all our so called targets suddenly become on every other teams shopping list cos we go in with a ridiculous low ball offer that’s never going to be accepted and probably insulting.
Why can’t we just go under the radar like teams like Villa,Brighton and Brentford who you never here about low ball offers being rejected they just quietly go about there business, identify there targets and get them signed without the world and his wife knowing, unlike West Ham…

Only at West Ham,most of it is bs but when it’s true we’re interested in a said player we’ve mucked the deal up with derisory low offers.

I seem to remember we could have made serious offers for Gyokeners 17.5m and Etetiki 17m (apologies for spellings) and even Duran was a sound investment but small mined, penny pinching major shareholder doesn’t have the foresight to make sound, good commercial decisions. So here we go again with Mario Stroeykens just get on with it before it’s too late and he signs for Leeds, Forest, Brighton, Wolves, Fulham, Sunderland, Everton see where I’m going!
