Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Hammers target Youri Tielemans is likely to depart from the club over the next 18 month before his contract runs out.
CandH revealed over the weekend that the Belgian is not keen to sign a new deal at the Power King stadium and that the Hammers are keen on the midfielder.
David Moyes has him on his wanted list but is likely to have to battle Arsenal and Manchester United for the Foxes midfielder.
The player’s agent have made his position clear and it seems just a case of where the £40 million rated star is likely to see as his next destination.
He was on the same Hammers list of midfielders as Kalvin Phillips whom we moved for in the winter window and is very much a possible target at the end of the season.
Tielemans enjoyed a good game for the Foxes against us scoring a decent penalty and afterwards Rodgers made it clear the Foxes needed to be realistic about the outcome to the Tielemans scenario
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: ‘With his contract running down then I’m pretty sure there will be teams looking at him, but I’m also a realist as well.
‘We are real as a football club. You’ll get people asking if we can hang on to these players for the next six or seven years. reality is that if a player does really well at Leicester, he may want to leave and move on to another club. For us, it’s just about being ready for that.’
