Leicester City v West Ham | Claret and Hugh Prediction

The next in the merry-go-round of Lopetegui’s must win games sees selection challenges for the Spaniard to try and engineer a win away at Leicester. Lopetegui alluded to a continuing problem with Jean Clair Todibo after the weekend, plus Konstantinos Mavropanos was suffering from a virus and missed the Arsenal bench.

Be very afraid if the squad is announced with Edson Alvarez as a centre back.

Lopetegui’s choice is seemingly ‘Summerville or Kudus’ – he’ll choose Kudus instead of considering playing them both, Kudus centrally in the ’10’ role he worked so well at Ajax. That would mean Lopetegui would have to drop his ever-present 10 Lucas Paquetá, which we feel is long overdue but the man in the dugout doesn’t agree. So our take on J’Lo’s selection is as follows:

Areola | Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson | Soler Alvarez Paquetá | Bowen Antonio Kudus

Universal sigh of disappointment If we see Rodriguez back in the starting line up. Fabianski becomes the ‘fall guy’ for the Arsenal capitulation even though he wasn’t to blame – so Areola returns.

My score prediction:  1-1

Lopetegui’s squad will be announced at 7.00 and we’ll bring it to you immediately!

Last Time v Arsenal

Fabianski | Wan Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson | Soucek, Paquetá, Soler | Bowen (c) Antonio, Summerville

11/11 but ahem. My 1-1 score prediction has not aged well. But it makes it more likely I’ll be right this time around!

So close Martin. What chance have us mere mortals of predicting a line-up if the professionals are this close?

Anyone who predicts the lineup correctly runs the risk of proving they can think like Lopetegui? You decide if that is good or not.

This game ain’t all about having a bet, our club is bang in trouble right now and needs to play out of it with the tools we have. A lot of em were brought in on reputation, they are the ones who now need to pay back.

Paqueta has to be dropped. He was responsible for three of Arsenals goals and he’s been poor in every game this season except Newcastle. I would rather play Andy than Paqueta

I do not envy you these predictions Martin. Not with our bizarre circumstances or with their new manager factor. What do I think ?

I’m not sure myself. All things being equal I’d expect us to have too much quality for Leicester and so to win, but all things are not equal.

We have a propensity to shoot ourselves in the foot and Leicester will have some amount of bounce, both things being unpredictable.

I am not as confident as I should be, we could either win relatively easily or give ourselves so many problems that we lose. Is a shambolic situation and why Lopetegui has to go.

I’m saying 1-0 to us while not being surprised at any other score. I would not be giving Paddy Power and money on it.

Five changes, nobody predicted that. One of them had been the subject of considerable conjecture – more I’m sure will follow.
      Dreadful start.
