Lucas Paquetá’s Betrayal
Lucas Paquetá is trying to force an early exit from West Ham — and it stinks of betrayal considering the backing he’s had.
Reports earlier suggested the Brazilian playmaker is pushing for a January move back to his homeland, despite our club’s unwavering support through thick and thin. From helping cover legal fees to standing by him during FA scrutiny, the Hammers have shown nothing but loyalty. But clearly, that loyalty only goes one way.
For all Paquetá’s flicks, tricks and samba swagger, he’s failed to deliver the kind of output a top Premier League midfielder should. Goals and assists? Not enough. In big moments? Often absent. And now, in West Ham’s hour of need, he’s throwing in the towel. It’s a liberty.
Nuno’s Faith Betrayed
This is particularly embarrassing for head coach Nuno Espírito Santo, who has gone out of his way to back Paquetá — both privately and publicly labelling him West Ham’s best player. The team has been built around him when it wasn’t deserved, with creativity through the middle already in short supply.
It now leaves the Hammers in a dreadful position. The club let promising midfielder George Earthy go to Bristol City just days ago. And now our playmaker wants out?
Let’s be honest — this couldn’t come at a worse time. No attacking midfielder lined up, probably no funds likely available unless the deal is done, and no sign that replacements are even being considered.
The fans deserve better and with different timing, losing the show-pony could have been a blessing is disguise. Paquetá’s timing is awful, and while he may return to Brazil, he’ll likely do so by moving for less than his value.
He’s not a hero. He’s a rat deserting a sinking ship.

Why are the FA not being pulled up for what they have done ?
By asking not to play in the f a cup makes me think he wants to go to a premier league team .so he isn’t cup tied …
Let the rat leave, perhaps he’s sulking because he didn’t get another hug from guardiola, hes not a hammer never has been , and had no intentions of being one good riddance to him
I don’t blame him for getting out of the car-crash that is West Ham
You have listed all the facts why he should go. He won’t be missed, his input is not premier league, we need a fighter, give a youth player a chance and at the very least you will get 100% effort.
Is this just another smoke screen?
His homeland team can’t afford him.
Absolute nonsense, often utilised as a false 9, rarely protected by a capable midfield, hounded by the FA and media. Exceptional in a Brazil team coached to play attacking, exciting football. The fault for his flaws being exposed lie with a jumbled recruitment team, a captain whose own flaws are rarely highlighted and a succession of mediocre head coaches who failed to pick and play a team to get the best out of him or develop his skills beyond the point they were at when he arrived.
Sullivan may have overpaid for those skills, but that is something he does almost if not everytime.
ABSOLUTE COBBLERS !
makes you wonder why we didnt hang on to earthy play him against qpr at least ???? very odd
I was astonished we let Earthy go back out on loan as well. Unless the club expect us to be relegated and this was seen as a good way to ensure that one of our best youth team players is fit and raring to lead us when we start next season in the Championship.
