Lid lifted on Irons agent fees

|

SilkyClaretandHugh’s most senior club source has lifted the lid on the £7m paid by the club to agents and intermediaries in the past twelve months.

Speaking about yesterday published figure  of £7,049,001 he explained:

“On some deals the player has an agent who we pay, and we have an agent that we pay.”

On other deals the player’s agent acts 50% for us and 50% for the player. EVERY DEAL IS DIFFERENT.”

“Our fees are high as fees are often split over the first two to three years of a contract or over the lifetime of the contract and we have signed a LOT OF PLAYERS over the last four years.”

“If we paid agents nothing at all this Summer, we’d probably still pay out £4-5m to them anyway from previous deals.”

“You might find this strange, but if you don’t pay the high agent fees the player signs for another club.”

It’s part of the game now I don’t like it but that’s because I am not an agent,
If the 2 Daves are willing to pay and we keep bringing good players to the club I for one won’t be moaning, better to pay them then loose the players but once we do get the player and they get there money they should but out until new contract talks start a year before the old one runs out or until we contact them to offer new improved contract to keep the player at the club,
No going to the press to cause unrest
Show some loyalty after you have been paid so well
