Steve Jones’ kid scores EIGHT of nine!

LiamWest Ham under 10’s beat Millwall yesterday 9-8. Alex Song’s son made his debut for the Hammers youngsters but the star of the show former Hammer Steve Jones’ son Liam who scored eight of the nine goals.

Liam has followed in his father’s footsteps in playing for West Ham. Nine-year-old Liam, who can play as a striker or on the wing, scored more than 100 goals for Langdon Pumas before joining West Ham last year.

Song“Liam’s done really well and we’re all really proud and happy that he’s signed a contract with West Ham now,” said his father Steve last year after he joined West Ham.

“He has been playing two years up for his age, has bags of pace and a great left foot, which he certainly doesn’t get from me! He’s already scored more than 150 goals in matches he’s played for West Ham and is doing really well, but it’s important to remember he is only eight.”

“I don’t think what happened to me will ever really happen again to anyone else. I was playing non-league football and two weeks later I was on the bench for a team in the top division, it was crazy. West Ham has always been my club so it was extra special to play for them and it’s extra special Liam is there too.” Jones added speaking to the Southend Echo last year.
