Lincoln City v Irons: Here’s our Hammers team

Here’s our Hammers team

West Ham look likely to send out as a seemingly near reserve team as we have seen this season when they meet Lincoln City on Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup.

As we wrote earlier it would be great to see the likes of Divin Mubama, George Earthy and Lewis Orford involved in the team along with the likes no doubt of Conor Coventry and Ben Johnson.

We can expect the strength to be on the bench in case things don’t work out in the first 45 minutes against a team currently below midway in League One.

Probable Hammers team

It seem reasonable to assume as well that Konstantinos Mavropanos will get a shout notably with Aguerd looking more and more unpredictable although Oggy’s shocking error in the Euro League match could see him step aside for Kehrer with Cresswell ay left back.

This to me seems a highly probable team: Fabianski, Johnson, Mavropanos, Kehrer, Cresswell Coventry, Soucek, Earthy, Fornals, Benrahma, Mubama.

Let’s just hope that the kids get their chances and are reminded they are still in the manager’s mind. We have lost a few from the academy over the last year to 18 months and we can ill afford to see others becoming impatient.

I would also consider starting Kudus up top instead of Ings.

We need to stay competing, no more excuses from Moyes. Players close to the first team need ganes. Players like Coventry who are no where near first team should not be starting. Team should.be Fab, Kehrer, Dinos, Ogbonna, Scarles, Alvarez, WP, Fornals, Benrahna, Cornet and Ings.

Would love to see the youngsters get a run out, however, progress needs to be assured.

THIS IS A REVISED VERSION OF MY EARLIER COMMENT

Whilst I agree it would be good to see some of the youngsters given a chance, cup games against lower League opposition are always potential banana skins. We have been bitten more than once in cup competitions and should not pass up the opportunity to progress by fielding too weak a side.
