Line-ups Announced: Fulham v West Ham

Image for Line-ups Announced: Fulham v West Ham

West Ham travel to Craven Cottage today for their away Premier League fixture and the team has just been announced. There is one change from the previous PL outing against Manchester City.

West Ham’s record against Fulham is 51 wins to Fulham’s 34, in addition to 24 draws, though Julen Lopetegui’s team will be looking to overturn a run of back-to-back defeats at the hands of the West London side. Last year the aggregate score was a pretty awful 0-7 so we are looking for considerable improvement this year!

The full starting eleven is:

Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson, Rodríguez, Álvarez, Souček, Bowen ©, Kudus, Antonio
Subs: Fabiański (GK), Coufal, Cresswell, Todibo, Soler, Irving, Paquetá, Summerville, Ings

Tomas Soucek returns, despite poor performances for the Czech Republic side side during the international break. Somewhat surprisingly, Mikel Antonio is in the starting eleven having only arrived back from Honduras on Thursday after a mammoth 15 hour flight. Let’s hope he’s been on the Red Bull!

No starting places as yet for Jean-Clair Todibo or Carlos Soler. interesting also to find Lucas Paqueta is on the bench. A thought-provoking selection!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Is there a point in keeping stale news on the site?

Soler and Summerville to come in plus …Paqueta or Ings?

  • John Ayris says:

Looks strong and with a strong bench is the big difference this season, no shortage of options. I fancy this, a narrow win 1-0 or 2-1

Good solid away lineup against a hard to beat Fulham team in front of their own crowd . My tip, Paquetá, Summerville, Ings to come off the bench second half and win us the game

This starting line up makes about as much sense as signing Fullkrug instead of Duran.

Lose this one Loppy and you’re rightly copping a load of flak for that starting eleven.

    Loppy – the new Moysie?

I can stomach a good team selection not getting the desired result while those players work on becoming a team. Selecting a player that can’t play a passing game and pushing our best player into he’s least favoured position is going to lose my vote alarmingly quickly. I cannot see the point in the club spending to the point of the PSR limit and keeping so much talent on the bench. I’m not the fan that values 3 points more than entertainment.

Actually I’m absolutely livid. So many fans rejoice the return of Premier League football after an international break as I do. Not a ball kicked yet and that feeling has gone.

Let me guess- he’s starting Kudas in his most ineffective position on the left again & leaving the best left sided winger in the championship last season on the bench! Wow. Just wow.

    • Andrew says:

Absolutely agree, it’s like there’s a rule somewhere that states you can’t play a left winger on the left!
