Surprise, surprise, Lingard in Saudi wage dispute

By Hughie Southon

Surprise, surprise…Jesse Lingard’s Saudi Arabian deal may break down as the player is claimed to be in a wage dispute with the Steve Gerrard-managed Al-Ettifaq.

According to Talksport he still hasn’t settled his desired £7 million wage demand and the club is holding out on such a deal.

Wage dispute problem for Lingard

Al-Ettifaq are understood to want to do a deal closer to £4.35million on a potential Lingard’s  contract and there doesn’t appear to be a compromise in sight.

In some respects it mirrors the situation when he decided to move to Forest last summer rather than West Ham after negotiating with both clubs for a better deal.
This time around after training with the Hammers squad he has now preferred to leave and try his luck in Saudi Arabia which has since been reported as being his central objective all summer.
