Lingard personal terms – the truth!

Reports that Jesse Lingard wants a major pay upgrade to join West Ham are some way wide of the truth despite various pundits weighing in with their view of such claims.

It’s even being suggested that the Manchester United midfielder will need to become the top Hammers earner to decide on making a move to the London Stadium.

But agents close to the deal have made it clear to CandH this is simply not the case and the Hammers themselves found it “refreshing” when the 28 year old was happy to remain on the same wage when he arrived at the club on loan.

As we understand it Jesse is currently on around £80k a week at Old Trafford and won’t be looking for a £30k rise which would be needed to make him the best paid Hammer – a position currently held by Andriy Yarmolenko.

Given the current financial scenario surrounding the game such a rise would be entirely impossible and it’s more likely he would receive a small rise on his basic pay and enhanced appearance payments.

Negotiations are still to start with Manchester United over a possible deal but we understand – as is usually the case – agents are busy on discussing the nuts and bolts of it!

  1. Has Lingard actually said he wants to leave Man Utd for West Ham United ; No .
Has Rice said he will stay at West Ham United ; No .
Loads of rediculous speculation as usual .
I think it’s all a smoke screen for Moyes to fly in under the radar and snap up a few good deals . Anyway let’s hope so . This Euro 2020 is a huge shopping centre .

  2. Hope that true from what he said today is seems like it’s all about playing time & thought some say what it said is good for us… He did say Ole & him kept in touch & have been talks… If they sign Sancho that could definitely push him out tho bc at £80m he starts at RW or AM if Burno isn’t playing.
But hopefully we don’t have this saga go till end of sure especially as it seems Moyes wants to get him in first. Hopefully after group stages Moyes will reach out to him & see what he wants if he hasn’t already.
