Lingard ready for action among mates

Jesse Lingard believes a trio of Hammers is about to make him feel very quickly at home this season.

The Manchester United loanee has arrived as the club’s main ‘signing’ of the winter as David Moyes looks to press on at the top of the Premier League.

And having spent much of his season on the side lines at Old Trafford. the attacking midfielder is looking forward to joining Declan Rice in that area of the pitch.

The 28 year old is also looking forward to teaming up with Michail Antonio and Darren Randolph with whom he has also had past relationships.

Whether he will be in the squad for Aston Villa tomorrow night (Wed) remains to be seen as the Irons head into their 28th game of the season.

But David Moyes was so keen to bring his former Old Trafford player to the club that it would be no surprise to see him on the bench at the last

Commenting on his arrival at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/february/02-february/jesse-lingard-its-great-be-playing-great-players-who-ive Lingard declared: “Dec’s journey has been amazing

“He’s a top-class footballer and a top-class professional and he deserves everything that comes his way. It’s great to be playing with great players who I’ve played with before and understand how I play as well.

“Darren Randolph was one of the first ones who took me under his wing at Birmingham [in the Championship during the 2013/14 season] and I settled in really well with him. It’s good to reunite with old faces and, like I say, it makes me feel more comfortable settling in.

“I’ve seen Mick (Antonio before and met him at England squads before and we’ve had some good times! I think it’ll be good. Like I said, it’s a great team with youth and experience as well and we’ve got a couple of lads with a good bit of banter as well.

It’s always good to have the fun side of football, but also have the serious side as well, which I’m looking forward to.”

He can’t wait to get back onto the pitch declaring: “The main aim is to be  playing regular football, playing week-in and week-out and to be on the pitch is a blessing. All I want to do is play football and be happy.”
