Lingard timescale set

|

By Dave Langton

Jesse Lingard is set to make his mind up on his future once he returns from holiday.

The attacking midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the month when his contract expires at Manchester United.

West Ham are interested in signing the 29-year-old, having seen two previous attempts to bring him to the club knocked back. The Hammers first tried to buy Lingard after his loan last summer, while there was also a bid tabled to secure his signature in January.

He has jetted out to Miami on holiday and is currently staying in the same hotel as PSG’s Neymar and ex-Brazil international Ronaldinho.

Sources at the Hammers expect Lingard to make a final decision over his future once he returns, with a number of clubs interested, including Spurs and a variety of European outfits.

The Irons are confident they would be near the front of the queue because Lingard enjoyed his loan spell at the club so much but the decision will be made soon.
