Lingard’s drops heavy Hammers hint watching England

It hasn’t taken Jesse Lingard too long to start pouring some cold water over The Sun’s story of this morning claiming he wants to stay at Manchester United.

Indeed, the downmarket tabloid tale went as far as to say that he has held talks with the Manchester United boss telling him so which is very much at odds with what CandH has been hearing.

And this afternoon the 28 year old attacking midfielder – badly wanted by manager David Moyes as a quick signing – watched England beat Croatia and chose to wear the national team shirt of  Declan Rice.

He showed the image on  social media to share some snaps of himself watching the Euro 2020  in the pub, with his choice of shirt seemingly making a pretty big point.

And it certainly seems on the face of it that his West Ham connection is a little more important than the Manchester United one bearing in mind he could have work any of Harry Maguire’s, Luke Shaw or his apparent best mate Marcus Rashford.

  1. “down-market tabloid”, love it

  2. The Sun – for what it’s worth – are ‘reporting’ this morning, according to the BBC Sport website, that Lingard has told Solskjaer he’ll be staying at Man Utd.

    • I prefer to wait until Jesse Lingard himself makes his choice, and of course, that the Hammers find the Money to buy and pay his wages.
My personal opinion, Jesse looks like a Hammer, plays like a Hammer and could very well be blowing bubbles with his enthusiasm with the Hammers. He has hit the scene with the same belief from the supporters as Tevez recieved. He is a Hammer.

  3. Is that a parrot on his shoulder? That’s probably even more interesting than the rice shirt, which is just Lingard toying with people who jump on everything.
