West Ham have been linked with a potential swoop to sign Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window as David Moyes looks to fix the club’s striker shortage.
The Irons struggled immensely against Spurs on Wednesday as the club were forced to play without Mikey Antonio after a positive COVID test.
Now, the London Evening Standard has reported that the club are interested in a swoop for Diaz, who has been in remarkable form for Blackburn in the Championship.
He has scored 19 goals and provided one assist in 23 games in the second-tier, with Blackburn currently third in the table, just three points behind leaders Fulham.
The Chile international can play up front or on the wing, although Blackburn may be reticent to let him go in January given their current promotion push.
Divock Origi has also been mentioned as a potential target but the Standard reports that Liverpool are unlikely to let him go, particularly if the Africa Cup of Nations goes ahead and Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah disappear to represent Senegal and Egypt respectively.
