Liverpool v West Ham | The one thing West Ham fans absolutely demand

“Liverpool face an anxious wait for news on three players for West Ham visit’ goes the story in the Liverpool Echo. Maybe I am weary of West Ham’s stuttering season and cannot wait for this 2024-5 shambles to end, but I suspect Liverpool with, or without the three’ stars’ in question, will have more than enough to take three points against West Ham who don’t have the best of records at Anfield:

One victory in the last 30 is not something that has many Hammers fans licking their lips in anticipation.

However, compared with Lopetegui’s 10-2 aggregate against the Reds, it will be important to see how Potter sets up his West Ham team and the mindset which the eleven have: Liverpool are fallible as they contemplate ‘choking’ in the last phase of the Premier League – they lost last weekend against Fulham so Potter must at least be hoping to avoid the kind of five goal thrashing which his predecessor endured. Twice.

For the record, according to the EchoLiverpool are sweating on first choice keeper Allison Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomes“- the last two are more than likely ruled out of Sundays fixture.

West Ham have to instil a pride in their performance, to find a backbone from somewhere.

Another avalanche of goals and capitulation against Liverpool is unthinkable from a group of players who are – apparently – all playing for their futures at West Ham.

a 22 year old Manu Lanzini on the score sheet at Anfield: The first Hammer to score there since Geoff Hurst!

Maybe somebody needs to show them the video rerun of August 2015’s 3-0 victory. Lanzini, Noble and Diafra Sakho’s goals created a bit of folklore that day as the Hammers secured their first win at Anfield in 52 years.

West Ham of today need to show they can at least compete, if not come out victorious in a way which was absent in December when the last two sides met, and which hastened Lopetegui’s departure.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Martin, please try and be a bit more positive, I know C&.H try to be controversial to get people to comment but we are all West Ham fans and it is another day another match match don’t cast them aside just yet !!!!

I only care about the lineup and effort made to get on the front foot. No school boy errors would be great too. The result will be forgivable if this is our performance.
