Liverpool want A Song

alex-song-west-ham (1)Media reports suggest that Liverpool will make a renewed effort to sign West Ham on loan midfielder Alex Song after being impressed with his performances with the Hammers so far. It is claimed that Liverpool originally try to sign Song over the summer transfer window before he  decided to head to Boleyn Ground on loan instead.

The report claims that Brendan Rodgers will try to get Barcelona to recall Song in January so Liverpool could then sign him, but the club are also prepared to wait until the end of the season if needed.

Barcelona have already made it clear that Song has no future with them and will look to get him off their books as soon as possible, meaning whoever is the highest bidder will likely win his services.

West Ham are understood to be keen on waiting until the end of the season before making a decision whether to sign Song.

  1. Thought it was a “season long loan”? How then can they recall him in January??

  2. It is a season long loan but sometimes club have an option to call back their loanee during the transfer window. It depends on the terms of the contract.

  3. What with all the euphoria over signing such a player of class and his subsequent excellent performances, it had never occurred to me That song might only have signed for us on loan after his career had stalled in Barcelona in order to place himself in the shop window!

I just hope that this isn’t the case and that we have a realistic chance to sign him at the end of the season.

    • Remember Diame,he joined saying we were just a stepping stone to bigger things, but i knew Song had come to do the same,he chose us cos we guaranteed him a first team place. But then kike a sucker after his interviews,i thought maybe he might sign and i was being my suspicious self. But we all know where he’ll be next year.If he does go it will mean one of our own players will be missing out,i think we should only take loan players,if there willing to join if it works out,not just to come to us to get fit and get used to the Prem. again. C.O.Y.I.

  4. There is a good chance that is what he has done, Barcelona will want some of the £15m back they paid for him so it will be interesting to see what happens.
