Liverpool without key man against Hammers

Liverpool will be without striker Roberto Firmino this weekend against the Hammers.

The Irons go to Anfield in a massive game in both the title race and the race for the top four.

David Moyes’ side are currently fifth in the Premier League table while the Reds are second, six points behind Manchester City and with a game in hand.

The Reds have only lost twice this season and have not been beaten in the league in 2022, so the Hammers will be out to cause a genuine upset.

But Liverpool will be without a huge name against the Hammers, with boss Jurgen Klopp confirming that Brazil international Roberto Firmino will not be available for tomorrow’s game.

Firmino has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists, and he is almost certain to be replaced by Diogo Jota.

Speaking before the game, as per Football.London’s Tom Clark, Klopp said: “Bobby not for the weekend. The plan is he trains on Sunday for the first time.”

Klopp has also confirmed he is likely to be without Thiago and Joel Matip, although he will make a late call over midfielder Curtis Jones.
