Loan Hammer declares: ‘The story is not over’

Alphonse Areola’s future has become a tad unclear since interest from Fulham has been reported across the media.

The French stopper has been outstanding in recent European excursions for us and there have now been calls for him to replace Lukasz Fabianski as the Hammers No 1 next season.

The PSG 29 year old has looked a natural successor to the 37 year old who has signed a new one year deal with the club thus putting Areola’s permanent arrival in doubt given he may well continue to be seen as a number two.

Fears that he could return to his former loan club at Craven Cottage as a result  have been regularly voiced but he has now indicated that his future may well be at the London  Stadium.

He has spoken of his enjoyment at the club hinting that it could well be a permanent situation from the beginning of next season.

Speaking to www.whufc,com he said: “When you are a football and you play, you’re just enjoying every moment.

“I’ve enjoyed every moment since I arrived here when I signed and when I took the first pictures with my new jersey and my new number, so I enjoyed every moment with everyone here.

“The story is not finished, so hopefully we’ll see!”

  1. Sign him up and waste no more time. Focus on other positions we need, there is no point looking for another top keeper when we have the option on this one.
