Loan links make no sense

|

The suggestion that Chelsea rejected a loan bid by West Ham for left-back Emerson Palmieri makes no sense what so ever!

The Daily Mirror claimed that David Moyes had made a loan approach to the London rivals with Arthur Masuaku still injured but the Hammers approach was turned down by Frank Lampard who reportedly wishes to keep him around as vital cover.

Equally bizarre is the claim that West Ham could sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi on loan in January.

West Ham already have the maximum two domestic loans in the form of Craig Dawson and Said Benrahama and have no plans to turn these into permanent signing before the end of the season.

The Hammers have a £21.75m obligation to buy Benrahma from Brentford at the end of the season on the condition he passes a medical, likewise West Ham an option to buy Craig Dawson for between £2m and £3m at the end of the season but are in no hurry to exercise option earlier than required.

If David Moyes does turn to the loan market it will be an overseas player.

Surely 2 million for Dawson is worth it if we can free up a spot for someone who could be special ??

Exactly. We’re not going to sign Dawson or Benrahma in this window just so we can have another domestic loan. Newspapers are as bad as click bait sites and they just endlessly re-cycle the same garbage. The funniest one is that WHU have ‘slashed’ the price of Rice to £50m. All stemming from one lazy journo and it becomes a torrent. And they love to dress up speculation with REPORT just because they’ve seen it elsewhere. Grrrr
