Sky Sports News is reporting that West Ham remains in talks with Manchester United for defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Presumably, the Hammers have received some encouragement from the former Crystal Palace right-back, who rejected a move to East London on Thursday.
Manchester United appears to need to move on Wan-Bissaka in order to complete a deal for Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The Moroccan defender, and teammate of Nayef Aguerd, has indicated he is open to a move to Old Trafford following the breakdown of his transfer to West Ham.
While Sky Sports are reporting that the transfer fee for Wan-Bissaka would be in the region of 15 million pounds, it is understood the club would accept less in order to speed up negotiations.
West Ham’s need for defensive reinforcements has been further highlighted by the performance of the team against Wolves in the pre-season friendly loss this morning.
Clearly and new right back and an aditional central defender will be high priorities for Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui.
Villa should be our template for success we were in a better position than them a couple of seasons ago but didn’t kick on and reinvest. We should learn that lesson now while we still have some clout in the market place! We should identify targets and offer the asking prices and deal the deals. We need several players now if we don’t sign them quickly we will be in a relegation battle this season
We know this won’t happen
We know this won’t happen
Chelsea spent 200 million on transfers last season unfortunately for Chelsea they mostly came for the money not to play football and most are now likely to be sold as they didn’t perform and unfortunately these days that seems to be a regular thing those days, greed has become the wolf at the door. My advice is as soon as agents start pushing players at you give them a wide berth because the agents are just looking for easy money an earner so to speak and they convince players that a move is for the best, but thats only for what the agent can earn from it, that’s why you get so many fake reports of clubs after a certain player, that’s just the agents trying to get a bidding war going. So they can get a bigger cut.
I say make an arrangement with Duran so that he stays, with villa then join s us on a, free transfer at the end of the season when his contract expires that saves us the 40 million and when he, signs we we up the 90 thousand to a, 100 thousand the Duran and us both win, villa wind up with nowt which will be what they deserve after their greed, meantime get another striker in on loan with the possibility of signing if he does the business hats a win win win situation.
Duran has four years contract to run which is a big part of why his value is so high.
What’s happening with our signing policy we just don’t seem to want to splash the cash.. we were dire last night Sullivan needs to open the coffers and spend to get some quality players in.
The issue with Masraoui was that fee plus agents fee plus wage demands exceeded our PSR allowance for that position. In simpler terms our budget for a right back.
Man Utd can afford it as they have a higher revenue than we do.
I thought that the issue with Wan Bissaka was his personal preference to go to Milan, not affordability.
We were told that his wage demands were too high also. Don’t think anyone actually knows the truth
Thing twice???
This transfer debacle just highlights the importance of getting a Europe tournament place to attract the better players
A lot of comments about not being in Europe stopping players coming to us just to note chelsea weren’t in Europe last year but that did not stop them signing world class players because they paid the money.
Maybe but he would have gone to Man utd and use us as a stop gap next season.
Sane here. The Mazraoui money was contractually owed to the player by Bayern, so why should West Ham pay it? My main criticism would be we should’ve established whether an agreement on fees were possible earlier, and moved on more quickly. At least the Mazraoui deal was ditched quickly, unlike those for say Duran and Walker Peters. I suspect the interest in Mazraoui was to force United’s hand anyway.
We already had the other player in our basket, but wouldnt pay the add-on,
so we remove him and go after the bloke Man U want him to replace, Ah that makes sense.
I’d rather have someone with PL pedigree
