London Stadium approves West Ham foodbank collections

The London Stadium owners have approved foodbank collections on West Ham match days.

Former WHUISA Chairman John Ratomski is the brainchild of the ‘Irons Supporting Foodbanks project and yesterday announced on social media that London Stadium 185 and London Legacy Development Corporation had given approval for collections to take place.

The scheme follows similar schemes at Everton, Liverpool and Burnley.

After the agreement, Ratomski wrote on Facebook “Pleased to finally get the ok today from London Stadium to start our foodbank collections before West Ham first-team matches. We’ll be set up beside the info office by Endeavour Square, on the walk up from Westfield to the stadium from 2.30pm on Saturday 28th December before the Leicester City game.
With over 1 million fans going to games at the London Stadium during a season it’s a fantastic opportunity to help Newham Foodbanks fight food poverty”

Ratomski also revealed that CCN had already called and planned coverage in the next 7-10 days.
