London Stadium countdown until football

The last West Ham Premier League home match was played at the London Stadium on 4th May 2019

After that game, the new Claret carpet was rolled up to be put in storage for the summer and the front seven rows of seats were removed with Sir Trevor Brooking and Sir Bobby Moore north and south stands also moving back.

By the end of May, the seats were moved with the pitch protected with plastic flooring ready for the single Music concert of the summer when Muse played on 1st June as part of their Simulation Theory World Tour.

Five days later the music rigging, lighting and speakers had been taken down and access was granted to MLB team on June 6th, Major League Baseball is expected to complete their transformation by June 27th ready for the MLB London Series of Baseball between the NY Yankees and RedSox on 29th and 30th June.

Baseball is due to hand back the stadium on Friday 5th July at which point the stadium is handed over UK Athletics.  The Muller Anniversary games are scheduled for Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July with the stadium due to be returned to football mode by Wednesday 31sy July.

West Ham will play Athletic Bilbao for the Betway Cup on Saturday 3rd August with Hammers playing their first game in the Premier League one week later against Manchester City at home kicking off at 12.30 pm.
