London stadium owners in another legal dispute

|

It appears that London Stadium owners E20 are again embroiled in a legal dispute, this time with  UK Athletics.

UK Athletics and the Diamond League initially rejected a request from the LLDC to move their summer Athletics event, which was planned for tomorrow evening 13th July. It was expected that reconfiguration of the London Stadium for the Anniversary Games would cost more than £3 million.

Reports suggest UK Athletics is ready to take legal action against the London Stadium over a breach of contract.

The event has since been moved to Gateshead International Stadium for tomorrow night but while London Stadium owners have agreed to cover UK Athletics expenses for Gateshead they are still seeking compensation for being forced out of their London venue.

Taxpayers are thought to have funded London Stadium owners over £6m in legal costs for disputes involving West Ham, Delaware North, Vinci and UK Athletics since the stadium converted from the London 2012 Olympics Stadium.
