London Stadium prepares for football

By Sean Whetstone

The London Stadium is getting ready for  the first game of the season in early August against Manchester City.

Grounds staff tore up the Desso football pitch in June after the Soccer Aid event before it became a monster truck and then a music concert venue.

West Ham gets a new pitch every season as do all Premier League clubs.

An aerial photo taken earlier this week for pride month seems to sure that new turf is already down.

The new West stand is currently being assembled ready for the start of the football season.

West Ham will increase their capacity to 62,500 this coming season, an increase of 2,500 on last season.

The new £14.5m lower West stand straightens the lower stand slightly and adds a new 1966 corporate section at £1,500 per seat.

There will be Betway cup this pre-season with the Hammers paying all games before the start of the season away from home.
