London Stadium stewarding concerns

IMG_8925Staff at West Ham United have voiced concerns over stewarding and security arrangements at the London Stadium before the club’s first Premier League game at their new home against Bournemouth on Sunday claims the Times newspaper on Friday.

The Times says they have learnt that the number of stewards on duty at the stadium this weekend will be approximately half that employed on match days by other Premier League clubs in London.

Several members of staff have told The Times that there were too few stewards on duty at West Ham’s first two matches at the former Olympic Stadium — a Europa League qualifier against Domzale and a friendly against Juventus.

Although the Times claims employees at West Ham have raised concerns, Claret and Hugh understands the whistle blowers are most likely to be former West Ham stewards who are now employed by London Stadium 185 Limited or the stewarding subcontractor OCS.
