London Stadium Wi-Fi available in October

London Stadium wide ‘High-density Wi-Fi’ appears to be on the brink of being finally agreed by Stadium Owners E20.

Telecoms industry insiders claim that O2 will soon be awarded the £2m contract with Free Wi-Fi scheduled to be made available to all stadium users around October this year.

O2 have already rolled out the same Wi-Fi technology across Manchester City’s Etihad stadium, Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu, Twickenham rugby stadium and the London Eye.

O2 plans to use much of the original infrastructure left in the ground from the London 2012 Olympics as well as the existing fibre network but will install a new mesh of Wi-Fi access points to allow a crowd of up to 80,000 to enjoy download speeds of up to 30Mb/s.

Claret and Hugh understand that the Stadium Owners have refused to extend the new Wi-Fi offering to West Ham office space within the Stadium telling them if they want it they would have to pay for it themselves.
