London Stadium Wi-Fi to officially launch in 2020

London Stadium 185 deal with telecommunications giants 02 and networking hardware company Cisco to make high speed WiFi available at West Ham home games will officially launch from February of 2020 it has been announced.

All other events which take place at the venue such as Major League Baseball’s London Series and international athletics will also be able to avail themselves of the new WiFi infrastructure. The technology builds on that used at the stadium for the 2012 Olympics and is similar to that used at other venues in the English capital including The 02 Arena, Twickenham Stadium and the London Eye.

The chief executive of London Stadium 185, Graham Gilmore said: “It’s our ambition to be the most connected stadium in Europe, and the delivery of super-fast WiFi is just the beginning of these plans.’’

The new super fast Wi-Fi has been available for testing at games since November to West Ham supporters with download speeds experienced of 80 Mbps download and 120 Mbps upload available to all fans at the London Stadium.
