London Stadium’s 14,000 missing ticket holders

Minutes from April’s London Stadium Safety Advisory Board (SAG) chaired by Newham Council reveal the attendance for the West Ham v Southampton game at the end of March was just 43,000 following an official attendance of 57,000 tickets sold

That was first home game after the Burnley troubles but questions have to answered as to why as many of 14,000 supporters decided not to turn up to watch the 3-0 demolition of the Saints despite having a valid ticket.

The stewarding for the Southampton game was increased to 1,300 personnel while the Burnley game had 962, an increase of 338 stewards.

The safety minutes reveal that they were only three ejections of away fans with no arrests or medical incidences during the game. The minutes say that 1,300 stewards were booked for the West Ham v Stoke City Game with a further 110 overbooking of stewards to be used on the Stadium island.
