West Ham United legend Frank McAvennie has thrown his weight behind new manager Julen Lopetegui, expressing belief that the Spaniard can surpass the achievements of his predecessor David Moyes.
McAvennie acknowledges Moyes’ transformative tenure, highlighting three consecutive European campaigns and the club’s maiden Europa Conference League trophy. This success has put West Ham on the map, attracting better players with a winning mentality.
While some view avoiding relegation as acceptable during a rebuild, McAvennie echoes the aspirations of many fans who expect continued European qualification.
He views Lopetegui as the perfect candidate to not only maintain European football but potentially take the club further. McAvennie emphasises the promise made to fans of European competition upon the move to the London Stadium, a promise Moyes delivered on.
Lopetegui’s visits to the London Stadium suggest he has already been formulating plans for the squad, including potential signings. This meticulous approach inspires confidence in McAvennie.
McAvennie stresses the importance of the board backing Lopetegui’s vision. He believes a stronger defence could have unlocked even more potential under Moyes, hinting at areas Lopetegui might prioritise.
McAvennie is optimistic that Lopetegui can propel West Ham to the “next level,” exceeding even the high expectations of the fans.
While some fans initially questioned Lopetegui’s suitability, McAvennie believes surpassing Moyes’ achievements would be the ultimate justification for his appointment.
We are all eager to see Lopetegui build upon the strong foundations laid by Moyes. The Spaniard’s ability to deliver continued European success will be a major factor in his long-term success at the club.
If we can keep Bowen Kudus and Emerson, and the best of the U21s, the rest can f**k off!! Anything will be better than watching the tripe served up by Moyes and co.
If we believe all the tales , half the team intends to f??k off ,so loopies got his work cut out, unfortunately moyes has left a f??king car crash, we are told the youngsters will get a chance then we are going to stick with old f??kers, surely the only way youngsters get a chance is by putting them on the pitch, I can’t help thinking we are heading for the championship, if we had got rid of moyes in January a new manager bounce may have got us European football?
Mcavennie has changed his tune hasn’t he?
Last week didn’t you report that he was dead against it and thinks we could do better
Exactly tony . Absolutely ridiculous punditry.
To be fair, this article quotes a total of two words from him. So who knows?!
Just for a moment can we put personal grudges aside with reference to board members and owners alike.
Even Ray Charles can see that the club is evolving it’s strategic footballing operations and personnel changes are likely to be aplenty.
Let’s be pateint and understanding that it might be a while before spectacular results are ahieved during the forthcing transitional period.
Outsiders are desperate for Hammers to fail. Let us not bicker amongst ourselves and provide ammunition for pundits to slaughter us.
Well said DJHammer, nobody knows how well Lopetegui will succeed so let all the Hammer fans give him a chance. It won’t be an overnight success, Moyes gave us some great nights but he has left us with a very poor squad and it will take time, maybe a season or more to build a new younger, hungrier team. Lets all give him our support.
“The seo service ability to track and analyze key performance indicators has been crucial in adjusting our strategy and achieving better results.”
Perhaps we should try and play football
