Following West Ham’s disorganised and disappointing outing at Nottingham on Saturday, there are many opinions being voiced about his tenure at West Ham being short-lived. Most were happy to give him time – half a season seemed the consensus when he joined in the summer- but the deterioration in the performance, morale and discipline is accelerating the growth of negative opinion in, and around the fan base.

But it isn’t only amongst die-hard West Ham fans that opinions have shifted. Alex Barker (European expert at @theathletic) made his own opinion clear on his Twitter X account after the Nottingham Forest Match. ” Lopetegui can’t last. West Ham are woefully underperforming.”

He then posted the image of the forlorn figure of Jarrod Bowen – who it should be said was not passive in trying to rally the troops (main pic).

Barker then went on to make his own stance clear on where the club goes from here: If I remember rightly, the club value language in their manager, so that means quite a lot of fun replacements are off the table. Feels like convincing Potter is the best shout”

With Claret and Hugh’s  highly placed source within  the club advising yesterday that ‘Everton is a must win game‘ – Lopetegui’s future sits on a knife edge.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

You’ve been mugged Sully. Couldn’t happen to nicer spiv. Serves you right. Pay him.off and let a football man pick the next one. Up the middle at Lidl has nothing on you. And don’t offer him a couple of porno movies and dirty books as severance. Pay him what you owe him and suck it up. How does it feel to be out barrow boyed by a slippery Spaniard. Ha ha ha

There were a lot of new players to integrate but that was before now and I’m still seeing no improvement. We won against Man Utd but in all honesty I have no idea how the first half performance was that bad. 4-1 at Spurs, 3-0 at Forest were bad defeats with nothing close about them at all.

I see the upcoming international break as the time to admit this is not working. There are credible managers available without compo if we’re spent out, I think we need to pay off contracts as a cheaper option to the situation deteriorating further.

A lot of people seem to mentioning Potter but I read on another hammers site when we appointed JLO that his (Potters) stats are worse than Moyes in an attacking way. Less shots less attacks etc So who knows. Are we gonna be in another situation of wanting another new manager in 6 months and will end up like Everton.
Without doubt this guy does seem clueless, especially after Saturdays debacle. I just don’t think it is great to keep changing the manager if we want to attract a top or upcoming manager. If we were to change I would prefer an upcoming manager not someone with lots of baggage

if i remember rightly, Potter came into the PL from the Championship with Brighton. he had a side not equipped with what we have in an attacking sense (although he had proper strikers 🙄). but they were a possession based side and passed the ball around admirably. i know because i remember them outclassing and outplaying us on numerous occasions. everybody was singing his praises. he – like Moyes at Manure – was handed a poisoned chalice at Chelsea and maybe they were too big for him. for some reason i’ve always thought he may be a good fit for us. likeable, smart enough to know when to be a pragmatist against bigger sides but also when to go for it when possible. and he knows how to pick and set up a squad for the relevant opponent. and, it seems, the players liked him

        Plus he promoted youth

rollercoaster hammer, I like your take on Potter. I also think he could do a good job for us. He is young enough, just a little older than Eddie Howe at Newcastle. He speaks well and made a good impression as a pundit alongside Tim Sherwood and Paul Scholes in the Man U v Chelsea match relayed on Optus Sport here in Australia.

If I were David Sullivan I would at least talk to Graham Potter about the job. Maybe Tim Steidten has different ideas but, anyway, I can’t see Potter being an unemployed EPL manger (or coach) for much longer. He gets my vote at this stage!
