West Ham United‘s transfer window has taken a turn for the exciting under new boss Julen Lopetegui. The Spaniard is actively shaping his squad, with several targets in sight.

West Ham’s initial bid for Atletico Madrid’s young striker Samu Omorodion has been rejected. The 20-year-old impressed on loan at Deportivo Alaves last season, scoring eight goals. Despite never playing competitively for Atletico, Lopetegui is a big fan of the towering forward. While Atletico is open to selling Omorodion, valued around €30 million, the Hammers will need to up their offer to secure his services.

Following earlier reports, West Ham have confirmed contact with representatives of Crystal Palace and Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha. The experienced attacker is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League after a one-year stint in Turkey. Zaha’s experience and attacking prowess could be a valuable addition to Lopetegui’s squad.

West Ham have thrown a curveball into the transfer plans of Bayer Leverkusen. The Hammers have expressed interest in €20 million-rated defensive midfielder Aleix Garcia of Girona. Garcia was expected to complete a move to the Bundesliga champions, but West Ham’s intervention could see them hijack the deal.

With the Premier League season kicking off in mid-August, Lopetegui is on a mission to bolster his squad. The new manager is looking to bring in around five or six players before the transfer window closes. This flurry of activity suggests a significant squad overhaul under Lopetegui’s leadership.

West ham have to find good young emerging talents. Its no good wasting money on players who are over 27/28 as they have no resale value! We need a few gems from championship and also need to integrate some of our good youngsters into our first team squad. If we buy a couple of top players like FOFANA and GALLAGHER or GIBBS-WHITE then add a few youngsters I will be more than happy.Lets get behind our new manger and team and be united together to achieve success!!! Samu Omorodion only moved to Athletico 9 months ago for £5.mil. and didn’t even make their squad.

What would lead anyone to now think he’s worth £25mil.????

  • Donie Mc Cleverty says:

It’s turning out like before cmon lads let’s get players who want to play for west ham committed type

I would like to see an account of our trading in players over the last 2 years, which would include the 105 mil for Rice. I cant believe that we aren’t already fairly well funded before dildo throws in the 100 mil. Add to that, the money for the 6 – 8 players that we are moving on, plus all the sponsorship and endorsement cash, ticket and promo sales and the grossly overpriced burgers and beer.. 100 Mill —– my arse!

The Board aren’t putting in £100m, in fact they are not putting anything in. Even if they wanted to, it is now more difficult because the ffp/sustainability rules mean clubs need to stay within what they earn from normal revenues and player sales.
The £85-£100m budget is from normal surplus revenues but excludes any player sales.
We don’t get any money from burger and beers, that goes to the Olympic lot that run the stadium for us.
Last two seasons saw a £15m surplus last season and a £100m deficit the previous season.

  • Phil Baker says:

Westham need perhaps 8 new players with 100 million to spend . There will be no 40 to 50 million transfers . Westham need a couple of frees , 3 at 10 million each and then 3 quality for 70 million .

I’m really hoping for a positive time under J Lo and with Tim running behind the scenes.
Fortunes are always hiding, I just want to excited to watch the team again.

  • Nicko says:

Unlike under Moyes and his dithering, we are trying to buy players early not in the last 2-3 days. I don’t know most of the players named but Tim & JLo sound like they know what they are doing.

    • Paul says:

Sully will dither and duck and dive as he did with every manager and likes of Tim of mouse’s or lope and fans can forget it silly makes all the decisions as he did all the way back to Likes of Big Sam, Bilic and Pellegrini.

  • Pongo says:

It’s just all talk we dont have the money for 5 or 6 of those sort of players and the huge wages they would command. Cloud cuckoo land season is upon us once again.

  • LARRY says:

We haven’t bought any one yet

  • Peter says:

When you read about the kind of players that the Hammer’s are looking to bring in its an exciting time that the new season holds for us supporters

    • Graham says:

The fact that most of the players being mentioned are under 30 is a massive change from previous seasons!

    • Ken Edridge says:

Which is fact and which is fake, that’s what we all don’t know.
