Let us be positive…West Ham United are gearing up for a European push under new manager Julen Lopetegui, and their transfer dealings reflect that ambition. With reinforcements already arriving, the focus is on bolstering their attack.

Danny Ings’ disappointing stint (4 goals in 52 appearances) exposes a critical need for a prolific striker. West Ham’s over-reliance on Jarrod Bowen for goals last season is a concern Lopetegui is determined to address. Compounding this issue is the ageing of Michail Antonio, whose injury struggles and reduced playing time (7 goals in 21 starts) raise questions about his long-term role.

Technical Director Tim Steidten isn’t solely focused on a striker. Reports suggest an additional winger is also being considered, suggesting a multi-pronged attack for the upcoming season.

Borussia Dortmund’s managerial change has seen talented young winger Karim Adeyemi (22) offered to Premier League clubs, with West Ham among those contacted. While the £25 million-plus transfer fee might create a dilemma considering the need for a striker as well, Adeyemi presents an exciting prospect.

Pace & Technical Skills: Adeyemi boasts “electric” pace and a skillset analysts believe translates well to the Premier League.
Ball Carrier: Despite limited starts due to injuries, his statistics point towards a strong ability to carry the ball forward and threaten in dangerous areas.
Untapped Potential: Though not yet a prolific scorer (5 goals in 34 matches), Adeyemi possesses significant room for growth, drawing comparisons to West Ham’s own Jarrod Bowen. Even Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham admires his talent.
Versatility: His ability to play on both flanks offers more versatility and playing time opportunities under Lopetegui.

West Ham’s successful development of Jarrod Bowen, who arrived from Hull City, is a prime example of the potential for Adeyemi to flourish under Lopetegui’s guidance.

While the striker search remains a priority, Karim Adeyemi offers a tempting opportunity to acquire a young, talented winger with immense potential. The transfer fee might be a sticking point, but Adeyemi’s long-term value could be significant for West Ham’s European aspirations.

Getting more than a bit bored with all this should we, could we, who’s going to do this and that, what if. We have a new manager + staff who are trying to do a job. How about just let them plot their course, give them a chance to build a new squad, review after November time, see how they fare 😎

    Pace & goals = Jonathan David 💯

The Dortmund guy has amazing pace but no end product. Problem the reason his club are happy to see him leave.

Whose going to play left back besides Emerson (let’s hope he doesn’t get injured or fatigued).
    Aguerd if he’s not transferred?
Unlikely Cresswell will play 90 minutes due to age and speed.

The squad total numbers are 20.
Guilherme & Potts don’t count as they are under 21. I’m not sure where you get 23 from.

How many players are we signing… Winger, full back, centre back, striker.

The Squad currently stands at 23 including Irvine and Potts who were out on loan last term. We’re allowed 25.

We have leeway to bring in two before those we already have need to start going to other places.
