An interesting update from ExWHUEmployee regarding the currently injured Edson Alvarez, amidst talk that he is attracting transfer interest.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that clubs are still keeping tabs on the Mexico international, but no bids have yet been made.
The Mexican international has been a key player for the Hammers since his arrival from Ajax, and Ex has claimed that the club are determined to keep hold of him unless a “ridiculous” offer is received. The Irons ITK has also confirmed that new boss Julen Lopetegui is a huge fan of the player and see’s him as a pivotal part of the teams midfield.
Alvarez’s absence in the opening game against Aston Villa highlighted his value to the squad.
While the transfer window is still open, it appears unlikely that Alvarez will be leaving West Ham this summer. The club’s stance on the matter is clear: they are not willing to entertain offers unless they are significantly above their valuation of the player.
This news will be welcomed by West Ham supporters, who will be hoping to see Alvarez return and continue to play a crucial role in the team’s midfield.
Alvarez is absolutely critical to our season. If he and Guido play in the center and provide a firewall, for the silky skills of Todibo and Killman to mop up, then defensively we should be pretty rocklike and tight. Our goal difference may even go positive. I have a feeling (once the new player’s bed in) we will have a lot of possession and numerous tight games – nil nils, one nil’s. I don’t mind that, it’s still not a dreary Moyes low block where we surrender possession entirely and just leak goal after goal. I think the first priority Julien Lopetegui will emphasize, won’t be attractive passing football at all. It will be to make us defensively incredibly hard to beat. Once he has stabilized the back line, then we can expand the brand of football forwards, and allow our group of very talented attacking players to flourish. I do think we are going to be more Atletico Madrid than ever we are Barcelona. As for our style of football, it won’t always be pretty, but it will certainly be prettier.
Very well said and I agree totally with you
At last you’re quoting somebody who knows what he’s talking about. Stick to quoting Ex for the truth, not these other morons you peddle rubbish from.
