Lopetegui : Shortlisted ‘Successor’ Spotted At London Stadium

Wolves come tonight to take on a West Ham United team under severe pressure: Fourteenth in the Premier League might not sound a disaster but about to set a new Premier League record for the worst-ever calendar year for goals conceded, Lopetegui has been told – again- that this is his ‘must win’ game.

I’m sure David Sullivan keeps on with these so called ‘must-win’ edicts knowing sooner or later his choice of lame duck head coach ‘must-win’ one of them.!

Amongst the growing ‘shortlist’ to replace Lopetegui, Graham Potter represents a conundrum: He was  discounted by Sullivan as a candidate to replace David Moyes last year but keeps popping up now in just about every ITK journalist’s report.

Further speculation about Graham Potter is being fed by the fascinating admission from the club that ‘they had talked to his people‘ last week and actually denied any short term contract offer had been made – whilst not elaborating any further.

In addition – a fresh report from givemesport.com today trumpets headlines:”‘Genius’ Manager Spotted At Last Two West Ham Games’, referring to Graham Potter’s  appearance:”The former Chelsea manager has been seen at the last two West Ham games, as he prepares to take over at the London Stadium”.

They do conveniently forget that he was summarising for TV on one of those occasions! He may yet find he has a long wait: Given enough ‘must’-win’ games by David Sullivan, with a team including many undoubtedly talented individuals wearing the claret and blue, even Lopetegui is bound to blunder through one of them with a victory.

I can’t help still supporting the club and hoping for both a Hammers victory and a Lopetegui exit: The two seem an unlikely combination but I suspect I’m not alone in being stuck on the horns of  this dilemma just now.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Pellegrini was sacked after a home game to Leicester that we lost 2-1. He was sacked in the tunnel by Lady Brady and was escorted straight out of the stadium. All very quick after the game, it’s possible that similar could happen tonight.

There’s likely to be a significant number of empty seats due to the boycott while many of those who have attended are not likely to be happy. Team, who knows who might start as who knows the full extent of those Lopetegui has fallen out with.

Wolves are as much of a train crash as we are, anything could happen, but if we ship a very early goal or a few before half time there’s a lot of discontent to detenate. Happy days eh, I cannot believe what’s been going on but I don’t suppose that you can either.

Stinks of the old boys network SNIDEn wants a German coach

Brady wants Potter HER husbands CLOSE friend

When are these people going to put the club first instead of their Allegiance to the club and do what they are paid for not what’s in their best interest

Potter has been called a FLAKE by people that know far more than me

    • Dave says:

You wanted Moyes as Director of Football and in charge of player recruitment.

I’d say everybody knows far more than you!

Annette should have her own chant…..

        Sh*t Karen Brady
        She’s just a sh*t Karen Brady!

Anyone that thinks Moyes should come back as our Director of Football is clueless 🤦‍♂️

    • John says:

Agree about Potter – let him join Spurs, they need him more than us! 2-0 and they f*cked it up! 🤣

  • Chris W says:

Let’s look to the positive – a win tonight would take us just two points behind Spurs! Some of their pundit mates are still wittering on about how they can still make the top four ! They’re having a laugh lol. Postecoglou is not in danger of losing his job (yet) so why is J-Lo?

    • Andy says:

We’re loving Big Ange instead 🤣🤣🤣

I’d say Levy might pull the trigger faster than Sully as he always sacks coaches when fans kick off. He did it with Mourinho, Conte, and Nuno E Santo.

This is just our club, West Ham, The Ditherers! Will Sullivan ever sell??

  • Alan says:

If we win tonight this will drag on well into the new year. Its already gone on for a month since the must win Everton game. Where our form since has seen us lose 2 of the next 3.

If we largely steer clear of the bottom three, Sullivan will avoid sacking no matter how crap we are. Palace and Ipswich dropping points from winning positions probably helps solidify his position by default as we haven’t been sucked too far into the relegation battle yet. I think even a draw tonight will keep him in a job, even a drab one like the aforementioned must win Everton game.

Sounds about right, suspect the players will put a huge shift in for Antonio tonight which may delay things.

    • Andy says:

The irony of Füllkrug scoring the winner and then the players holding up Antonio’s shirt as a fitting tribute is a real possibility.

Our “homesick” striker who like others has issues with Loppy and constantly being scapegoated with Tim giving the coach until Christmas 🤣🤣

  • Mark says:

West Ham on Sky Sports tonight, must mean Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher are being considered as replacements too! 🤣🤣🤣

ITK journalists do me a favour. They love making stuff up just to get attention and boost the advertisers who pay their salaries.

Let Potter & Ashworth join Spurs when Levy scapegoats Big Ange to deflect the blame from himself like he’s done with every manager since Pochettino!
