West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui has revealed that all may not be well ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.
The Hammers’ gaffer was conducting his usual pre-match press conference responsibilities when he was asked if there were any injury concerns for the weekend’s fixture against Crystal Palace.
Concerningly, Lopetegui replied, “We’ve had a little problem in the training session, but we have to wait and see what happens.”
The Spaniard did not elaborate further, but the news did not sound promising. Of course, there is every chance that he’s playing mind games ahead of the London derby, keeping his cards close to his chest. However, this is likely to spark speculation about who the injured player might be.
When asked if some of the Hammers’ new signings were set to feature from the start, Lopetegui said, “We will see tomorrow who is ready. Step by step, they feel better and more ready, and it’s up to us to decide when the right time is to put them in the line-up. They’re all here to help us be a better team.”
Doesn’t take long for the infamous “KNOCK” in training raises it’s ugly head once more
I heard it was a injury caused by Soucek tripping over running and his munster forehead got stuck up Coufals ******** ….
Problem was that he kept on running and missed the goalposts and was last seen in Romford high street staggering with coufal giving directions….
Ha ha, that’s pretty funny 🤣 I give you 10/10 for creativity
Now that we’ve got a much larger squad, and more options, expect Lopetequi’s pressers to be regularly ‘cryptic’. Why give hints to the opposition? He also says that it’s a ‘little problem’ which hardly suggests that Todibo’s leg has fallen off. Has he even told the players on Thursday afternoon what the line up is for Saturday?
Bombshell 🤷 when you no idea who the player may be…gonzo you gone downhill so so much , clickbait headlines all the time ..
Even more of clickbait of you look at the transcript of the presser (from the Clubs YT channel)
Question ‘is there anyone you are particularly worried about who is going to be available’
Answer ‘No. Yes we had a little problem in the training session but I think let’s see until tomorrow what is going to happen because but this is only about the issues of the training that then little injury that they may have but maybe they can overcome until tomorrow lets see we are going to wait until tomorrow.
I think that Moyes would have been proud of J-Lo’s press conference – he managed to actually give away no useful information at all – he did not say who was injured and how badly, he did not say whether there was any chance at all of Alvarez being fit and gave no idea as to which new buys might be ready
Hopefully the boys do it at Selhurst Park
