Like many other Hammers fans, I’m incredibly excited to see what the new version of West Ham under recently appointed head coach Julen Lopetegui looks like. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer to see what differences West Ham’s new gaffer has implemented during two weeks of training because our first friendly match will be played on Monday at 3 p.m.
West Ham are due to play Hungarian champions FerencvĂĄros at the Sportstadion Langau in Austria. The match will be streamed for free on the clubâs social media channels and on YouTube.
This is usually the point when somebody comes along and tells us all to calm down and informs us that nothing can be read into pre-season training. Of course, everybody already knows that, but this is more about getting a sneaky glimpse at whatever changes might have been made and certainly an insight into West Ham’s formation going forward.
No doubt it will provide us with an opportunity to take a brief look at some of our summer signings, a few more established players, and the chance for a few of the Academy youngsters to shine.
I’m looking forward to it
I’m looking forward to it as well. And free – not a word usually associated with our greedy owners either!
And, itâs free! After being ripped off at the bar stands.
