Low chance of signing West Ham transfer targets

The chances of signing any of West Ham main striker targets remain low at the moment a club insider has told Claret and Hugh this afternoon. Earlier today we explained the chances of signing Maxi Gomez were dramatically lower than last week after Arsenal entered the race pushing up the price beyond what West Ham were hoping to do a deal at with Celta Vigo.

Now it appears now other Hammers forward targets including Moussa Marega, Salomon Rondon and Aleksandar Mitrovic are also no more than one in ten chance of being concluded any time soon.

West Ham has thirty players over the age 21 next season and needs to move some on as soon as possible to create slots to bring players in this summer. They do not want to loan players out on subsidised loans early August as the club have too many players on the books.

With estimated losses will be £35m this season just gone and a real danger of breaching FFP rules with possible sanctions the Hammers must get rid of fringe players as quickly as possible while spending the limited money wisely to maximise the summer transfer window.

  1. Does this mean a possible points deduction?

  2. Always knew Gomez was a pipe dream. He’s been a reported target for spuds Barca both Manchester clubs and arsenal so without being rude to our club, why on earth would he come to us?

  3. Didn’t take long for all the BS to be discovered..
Everyday recently we have been fed ‘we want this player’ ‘agreed terms with so & so’..
    Now it’s ‘we haven’t got a pot to pi$$ in & ffp’
How is it that we have moved in to a massive stadium with the promise of “the next level” & all we get is this load of tripe?

    • How can we be about to breach FFP. We are about to have Carroll and Nasri both off our wage books. If we weren’t breaching FFP with them in the squad, how can we be breaching it without them? And this isn’t including other players that are out of contract or will be sold. Seriously why does the club insist on always blaming FFP rubbish.

  4. Knew Gomez wanted European football, we were never likely to sign him. All Talk from Chairmen as usual

  5. Proberly the most annoying thing about this site
Headline west ham will/hope to sign blah blah blah
Few days later headline west ham have no /little chance of signing blah blah blah and repeat for next 3 months
Face it better of waiting till they holding up a shirt on official site

  6. I think our owners will find themselves very unpopular again next season if they play this game. The level of spin at West Ham is growing tiresome.

  7. I feel this article is completely opposite of what has been said on the previous past days. I’m sorry. You can’t write broken promises. Or what your “sources” have told you

  8. If we were going to sign Gomez we could have in January we could do the same again by triggering his release clause. Big clubs make statement signings frequently, let’s see if the chairmen are on message with Pellegrini and are willing to play like a big club.

  9. Have Arsenal actually entered the race, would be strange with having Lacesette and Aubuyeng, won’t get much game time.
