Lower-league club eyeing Iron

MK Dons are interested in bringing Conor Coventry back to the club, according to a new report.

The 22-year-old has been with the Irons since 2018 but has struggled to force his way into the first-team.

Coventry has made 10 first-team appearances for the club since his breakthrough, but has gone on loan to a number of lower-league clubs.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international has played for Lincoln City and Peterborough United, as well as MK Dons.

He went on loan to Dons in 2022 and made 22 appearances for the club in total, scoring once and laying on an assist.

MK Citizen, the local newspaper in Milton Keynes, claims that Dons could look to reignite their interest at the turn of the year.

Coventry was a lynchpin for Dons during his time at the club, playing in every game he was available and driving them to third place in League One.

It remains to be seen if any deal would be a loan or a permanent transfer but Coventry’s deal at West Ham expires next summer so a permanent exit, for a fee, makes the most sense.
