The choice of Lucas Fabianski or Alphonse Areola as ‘number one’ in the West Ham goal would, in less trying times, occupy considerable thought and blog posts. before the Lopetegui crisis much had been made of the need to recruit a new shot-stopper in January. It doesn’t seem quite so critical just now!
However, West Ham fans have an opportunity to support the Polish veteran keeper as Fabianski has got himself nominated for the Premier League save of the month for November.
Alongside Aaron Ramsdale, Bernd Leno, Mark Flekken, Andre Onana and Mads Hermansen, The Hammers’ keeper is in pretty illustrious company. The context – already being well behind in the Nottingham Forest game – makes this save even more special as West Ham were vainly chasing a lost cause.

I agree with Peter Handcock, buy Butland. Our keepers are not good even when we are in trouble they rarely kick, often punch out causing more problems. Pass to Players who are marked. Neither are up to the job.
We have two very good keepers at the club but it’s clear we need a younger quality keeper and I think JLo knows that so I would expect a new keeper to be coming in to the club soon it’s clear that JLo knows that he is in trouble due to the results having been poor to say the least but the state moyes left the club in it’s not surprising that the result have been a bit hit and miss I’m sure given time that he could solve that problem but the question is will he get the time to get things on track it would seem not but if potter was to replace him it would be more of the same till he gets the players he wants and gets the team playing the way he wants so no different from what JLo is trying to achieve I’m glad it’s not me that has to decide what happens in the very near future the board have a very difficult decision to make stick or twist what ever happens the club will carry on regardless
