Corinthians’ pursuit of West Ham United’s Luizão during the summer window ultimately fell short, even after the Hammers reportedly accepted their loan offer. Now, the Brazilian defender remains in limbo at West Ham, but that might not be the case for long.
According to a report from UOL, Eyüpspor, a Turkish club recently promoted to the Süper Lig, are interested in taking Luizão on loan before Turkey’s transfer window closes on September 13th. Although no formal offer has been made yet, all parties involved are eager to accelerate negotiations to finalise the move.
The 22-year-old centre-back, who joined West Ham from São Paulo in January 2023, has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Hammers. With KAA Gent also failing to secure a deal for Luizão before the Belgian window shut, Eyüpspor now appears to be his most likely destination for regular game time.
The Turkish club is aiming to strengthen its squad for their top-flight campaign, and Luizão could benefit from valuable minutes at the senior level. However, with the deadline fast approaching, Eyüpspor must act quickly to submit an official bid to the Irons if they want to land the Brazilian defender.
