Lusitanos man “frozen” by Hammers draw

FC Lusitanos’ general secretary admitted he was “frozen” when his team was paired with the Irons in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.

Diogo Fosta – whose club qualified by finishing second in the Andorran league – said: “We are a humble team – not very famous. We are going to play against a millionaire team.

Lusitanos are competing at this stage of the Europa League for the fifth time, but are yet to win a game.

Fosta told BBC London 94.9 “We are a humble team – not very famous. We are going to play against a millionaire team.

“We can’t compare the teams. We are very anxious to play in the Upton Park stadium. It is going to be a unique experience. We are very happy.

“Just for the experience of a Premier League team, it is a great challenge for us. We can grow more with this experience and these opportunities.”

  1. Blimey how high up the mountains are this lot?

  2. Must have been a great draw for them. They will probably spend the day on the p*ss in town then come straight to the match 😉

  3. ‘Diogo Fosta’ Sounds like a suspicious name. I think a certain chelsea striker has been wearing a moustache and buying football clubs

    • Haha no he’s genuine I saw an interview with his assistants Ron Berry and Lesc Cabregas
