Lyon aim to snatch Hammer in summer window

West Ham star Issa Diop is being linked with a move to Lyon in the summer.

The French defender has been at the subject of a number of transfer rumours in recent months and the latest has seen him suggested as a potential signing for the Hammers’ Europa League quarter-final opponents.

Diop’s contract is currently set to expire in 2023 and L’Equipe claims that Lyon are keeping a close eye on his situation with a view to signing him in the summer.

Lyon are aiming to restructure their defence in the summer and, as a result, are looking for a powerful defender who can slot straight into the starting XI.

That’s where Diop comes in and they could test the waters with a bid when the summer window opens.

Lyon are struggling in Ligue 1 and are currently 10th in the table, although they will face the Irons in the last-eight of the Europa League.
