Mackay praises Gold and Sullivan

MackayMalky Mackay appears to have written an on-air application for the West Ham manager’s job!

He gave David Gold and David Sullivan huge praise for their work in the transfer market this summer as the focus turns more and more onto Sam Allardyce’s future.

Mackay has been impressed with the club’s ambition in the transfer window and has praised the owners for their work.

He said: “I think it’s a huge blow for them losing Andy (Carroll) for four months,” Mackay told talkSPORT.

“They thought they had him fit over the summer but then he’s had an injury in pre-season.

“They feel they’re now light. I think Enner Valencia has been a terrific signing but they obviously still feel they need something else. There’s talk this morning of Peter Crouch being available.

“It shows the ambition of David Gold and David Sullivan [if they’ve gone after Eto’o], that they do want to kick on and stay in the Premier League and do well next year.”

  1. Well, he’d make it three uninspiring managers in a row.

  2. I’d rather stick with fat boy than have malky, I’d like to see pardew come back
