Magnificent Mohammad Kudus superb double strike and a third from Jarrod Bowen saw off Wolves as the Hammers returned to their best Premier League form.
Magnificent Mohammed Kudus’ superb double
The Hammers enjoyed a perfect first half courtesy of theĀ Kudus who first goal was a gem. Lucas Paqueta strode out of his own half and found the Ghana international with a perfect pass which the No 14 took well before turning beyond a covering defender and slamming into the corner of the net.
Wolves went straight into the attack and Fabiansksi – still in goal for the injured Alphonse Areola went low to save well. It was a brief lull in the Hammers pressure and they went further ahead less than five minutes later through the incredibly impressive Kudus.
Once again Paqueta – himself having a top game – suppliedĀ the assist hitting a perfect pass into the one the move Kudus who with plenty of space again found the back of the net.
The Hammers could have gone three up on half time but Bowen’s shot came back off the post just a couple of minutes after he saw a penalty appeal turned down by VAR.
The visitors started the second half well and saw a goal ruled out – again by VAR – when Sarabia was no more than inches offside when scoring from close in before Wolves peppered the Hammers goals with two or three efforts. The Hammers had certainly lost some of the first half momentum and the manager sent on Fornals for Alvarez whose facial expression appeared to show him less than happy with the decision.
But for all the Wolves pressure it was Bowen who made it three nil in the 73rd minute when after swapping passes with the inevitable Paqueta he fired a magnificent cross shot into the far corner from his favoured right side.
It all meant the Hammers went into seventh place before Manchester United kicked off at 4.30 but abve Brighton in to eighth anyway.
