Major Irons midfield selection scrap on cards

Alex Song has been training with the first team since Sunday and is hopeful he will make a return to the West Ham bench for the game against Everton at the weekend.

The Hammers are very keen to see the midfield ace back in action as quickly as possible ahead of a summer decision on whether his loan deal is to be made permanent.

We were told this morning that it would be a “disappointment” if the player wasn’t on the bench as he has been training with the first team all week.

The question of who makes way of course has occupied fans’ minds for sometime and it begins to look as though that player will be captain Mark Noble.

Mark has been subbed during the last five games  and looks the most vulnerable of those who may be forced to make way.

We were told: “On the face of it that looks how it’s likely to work out but it’s a brave man who would call Slaven’s team selection.

“It’s important Alex gets games as the club has to make a decision on whether he gets a permanent deal for next season and the sooner he is up to speed the better.”

Wouldn’t worry…..looks like Song will be playing a friendly next week according to Slaven.

The source appears to have got it slightly wrong. It happens.

Noble is now the week link in the line up but Song needs to improve on the performances of the end of last season,
There will have to be a lot of team selection for individual matches,
The problem for me at the moment is with such a great squad the young talent will not get the experience they need, maybe Oxford,Callum,Henry should go out on loan and if Burke has grown on last years performances maybe Ginge should be sold,
Would like to see Tomkins back at right back to see if we need next season someone else as Jenks won’t be back

Confused thought he had signed !

For sure Bilic wont play Song just so that he gets games to decide wether we will sign him or not in the summer. Of course he will only play him if he is the best possible solution for his central midfield. In that way he will be treated in the same way as all the other midfielders. If things are done in any other way I would be very surprised and disappointed.

With a fully fit squad my team would be
    Adrian (of course)
    Jenks , Reid , Ogbanna , Cresswell
    Song , Kayoute
    Lanzini , Payet , Moses
    Sakho
    Subs would be
Randolph, Tomkins, Collins, Obiang, Valencia, Zarate, Carroll

Were did Noble go? have we sold him in secret ?

      • COYI247 says:

Phew! I am glad you aren’t the manager!

        • Hammerman6 says:

There is a reason for my comment, only one defensive midfield replacement on the bench Obiang (who is not proven) Song is nowhere near match fit and Moses well …that’s why your not a manager either !!
