Aston Villa have seemingly softened their stance on Colombian striker Jhon Duran, according to HITC. This news throws a lifeline to West Ham United, who are keen on acquiring the young forward.

While transfer expert Fabrizio Romano previously suggested Villa wouldn’t accept anything less than £40 million for Duran, HITC reports a change in strategy. Villa are now reportedly willing to consider offers below that mark, provided they include substantial add-ons.

Both Duran and Villa seem to be in agreement regarding a potential transfer. The 20-year-old reportedly desires a move away this summer, and Villa appear open to letting him go.

West Ham, along with Chelsea, are actively engaged in talks with Villa to explore a possible deal for Duran.

This news contradicts earlier reports from Romano, who indicated Villa wouldn’t budge on their £40 million valuation. HITC suggests Villa might be more receptive to offers closer to their own revised valuation, which could be lower than what West Ham and Chelsea initially proposed.

Despite the reported softening of Villa’s stance, neither West Ham nor Chelsea have submitted official bids for Duran. This presumably stems from the gap between Villa’s asking price and the clubs’ own valuations of the player.

Duran hasn’t been afforded many opportunities to shine at Villa, having scored just eight goals in 49 appearances. He has primarily served as a backup to Ollie Watkins.

But Duran’s young age (20) hints at significant potential and with more playing time, he could well and truly blossom at the London Stadium

So, the Irons will need to decide if they’re willing to meet Villa’s asking price with add-ons to secure Duran’s services or continue to look elsewhere.

If it’s not too late just go and sign En-Nasri and be done with all the circus. Typical west ham transfer season, all talk and no substance. Gone are the days, when first you heard of players like Macavennie, Macdougal, being signed in service station on Motorway, and first thing you heard of it was in paper the next day

Why are we linked with these striker on the first place who don’t offer anything to hammers we need to look for 15+ goals a season striker how many has he scored last season? Waste of time chasing deals like that not worth the price tag! Ivan Toney is the man for irons

Villa paid £18M including add ons but his contract length and 35 premiership appearances make him worth appreciably more than that now.

Villa took the risk on him adapting, a buyer now is not taking that risk. He was never going to realistically displace Watkins so that’ he’s not a regular starter is a red herring.

Many fans do got get that when you buy a player you buy his contract out, and a significant part of what you pay goes toward doing that. The longer the contract the more you pay.

He’s worth significantly more than what Villa paid, the only question is exactly how much more.

20m should be the max for him

villa are acting like he’s the finished article, the guys is outrageously green, needs to develop substantially to warrant anything close to 30m let alone 40m

im hopeful this entire link has been rubbish, doesn’t even make sense, he isn’t a back to goal striker who can setup the likes of bowen and kudus on the edge of the box, the link makes zero sense imho

with our attacking midfielder talent we really need a target man
