“Makes no Sense” | Hammers Reported £25M Transfer Bid

I have managed to avoid writing about Tammy Abraham for the past two weeks simply because I don’t believe West Ham have a serious interest in signing the player.

However, that has not stopped the Italian and UK press from ramping up transfer talk in the last 24 hours, with the AS Roma striker now being openly discussed as a viable option.

At C&H, we are fortunate enough to have regular correspondence with high-placed sources at the club, and for the last two weeks, the messaging has been the same . . . “we’re skint.”

West Ham have considerable interest in PSG’s Carlos Soler, as has been reported, with the transfer fee and player’s wages agreed. However, the deal is on hold because we need to offload Danny Ings, Maxwel Cornet, or someone else to raise the funds for the initial loan fee.

With that in mind, it’s hardly likely that the Hammers hierarchy has found a spare £25m in the glove compartment to enable us to complete the signing of former Chelsea striker Abraham.

So, for one, I am ignoring the increasing speculation linking us with a deadline day move for the player. We don’t have the money, and I suspect Julen Lopetegui is happy enough to start the season with Antonio and Füllkrug.

Frankly West Ham should stop all future signings … until the club gets co-op from Julen L and an explanation on his refusal to pick the new signings.
And please, dont tell me about the players firstly getting used to the English game. And the other thing is … many of them such as AwS + Fullkirk had pre-seasons prior to signing. And of course AWS come from another Premier L team, far more superior than WH. And Summerville, the best player in the Championship last season … etc, etc.
So, for me the new head Coach must explain himself, and not waste the club’s money, the fans and players time who got promised matches at WH at time of signing !!!

Or you could just trust the bloke for more than a week who’s been coach of Real Madrid and Spain to do his job.
Who are you dropping for Summerville? Bowen? Kudus? Paqueta? I don’t think so. Wan Bissaka was injured when he arrived from a Man U friendly; now fit he will be no. 1 from now on I reckon. They’ll get used to playing with each other, and different clubs have different preseason schedules/ priorities so it doesn’t mean players are instantly ready to go. Have patience!

I wouldn’t say no to dropping Paqueta, move Kudus to the middle and give Summerville a run. Paqueta is starting to look like he is not fully committed to the cause. Perhaps he didn’t get the email about when the season starts either?

Tammy should be avoided at all costs. We can do without acquiring another expensive rehabilitee taking up residence in the treatment room for years to come. Sorry.

I can relate to all others who are scratching their heads when we initially see the team line up announced.
Upon reflection though, it’s good management to inspire new acquisitions to up their levels even higher in training to dislodge the old guard. Conversely the old guard will need to up their levels to retain the shirt.
As a wise man wrote ” a rising tide raises all ships “.

Should we get rid of Alverez because of he’s injury and anytime one of our players get injured all players get injured and I’m sure if Abraham does come he will have a stiff medical so we will see.

  • Ray says:

If £2M plus per season doesn’t provide sufficient inspiration, I’m not sure what will.

  • Wayne says:

We do need another striker though.
