Man City boost ahead of Hammers clash

|

West Ham’s next opponents Manchester City have received a boost with the news that defender Nathan Ake has returned to training with the Dutch national team .

Ake picked up a hamstring injury on the summer tour to Asia and  appeared to suffer another  when the Netherlands played Greece and was substituted at half-time in that match.

His coach Ronald Koeman confirmed after the match that they did not want to take any risks with the defender.

Despite reports the player still seemed to be in discomfort in training on Friday, the fact that he was back on the grass was seen as a good sign. The 28-year-old is expected to be available to Koeman for their game against Republic of Ireland tonight (Sun).
